Four new videos on YT

Post by Surpinto »

These are all from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception concert DVD. Hope lots of people see these as they are excellent and they could use the publicity. Also their gallery was just updated with photos from the "America" video.

That's smart of them to post the videos officially and get the views.

The performances from the live DVD are all so good.
I think that the CD version is now my favourite album by them. I haven't skipped a song on it once whereas I tended to do that sometimes with their other albums.

Their version of Ave Maria is probably the song that gives me the strongest emotional response. A very precious moment.
But Wayfaring stranger comes very close after that! :)

I'm not sure if this has been linked yet or not, but here's a link to the video showing Obama singing Amazing Grace, and then Libera singing it also, as an example of other singers/groups renditions. Libera was one of only three other renditions beside Obama himself - pretty exciting. I wonder who suggested Libera as a good example of that song?

The link itself is: http://www.insideedition.com/videos/486 ... ion?page=3

Here's a different link if that doesn't work: http://bcove.me/7vjgkplu

Nice find. Out of curiosity I went on YouTube and searched 'Amazing Grace' and Libera did not appear in the first few pages. I tried again with 'Amazing Grace Children's choir' and again nothing. Either they had a very patient researcher who checked out a lot of interviews or somebody at the station saw the PBS special.

Looking at the bios of the main staff od Inside Edition I suspect that some of them are likely fans of PBS, so they probably saw the song on the PBS special.
However the movie Amazing Grace isn't about John Newton, it's about Wilber Wilberforce, the British politician who devoted his life to ending slavery in the British empire.

William Wilberforce :D A good Yorkshireman (yes, there's more than just me).

Yes, William, not Wilber. John Newton did figure in the movie, I believe he was portrayed as one of Mr. Wilberforce's primary inspirations. His was an amazing life. He easily belongs in the company of Abraham Lincoln, Thaddeus Stephens, Fredrick Douglas, etc.

Cool! It looks like Libera.org posted it at their site as a fundraiser.

They can even play sports in those robes! Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Hark, we hear a distant music and it comes with fuller swell
’tis the glorious song of heaven and our fears it will dispel.

So good to see the boys in a different environment. I really enjoyed that :D
