Libera Photoshoot

Today Libera has been tweeting out silly photos of the choristers taken during a formal photo shoot with captions informing us that these are head shots for the US tour. This suggests that they are likely to do for the US tour what they did in the Philippines or Japan or both (I can't recall), a few years back, in which they have individual photos of the boys in the program. Their recent increase in the use of social media is a nice way of engaging fans in a fun way and of unwittingly informing us of the addition of several newbies.

The Japanese used to make up cards with their pictures on one side and "stats" on the other side just like old fashioned baseball cards.

Libera updated their Facebook page with this photo as their profile picture. It must have been taken during that same photo shoot.

Oh those crazy photos are so much fun! Didn't we all act like that when we were kids - and maybe some of us still do
I think it's nice to see they let them act out in that way to make the serious photo shoot more relaxed for them.

I feel as though a new era in Libera-land has slowly started, a while ago. Like they're eager to show more of what goes on in their world. Behind the scenes. Reaching out to fans more. It feels like a new approach that these pictures are also proof of. It would seem fitting with practically a whole new generation front stage now - look at the Washington live recordings. Just some musings and I like the approach, it's very sympathetic.

Perhaps it is producing two DVDs less than two years apart. "Behind the scenes" segments have always been included with their DVD's, the Libera organization knows that their public expects them.
