Libera Dreams

I came across this online article http://www.coreacourier.com/view.html?idx=203 which highlights how much of Libera's music has been used with South Korean TV programs and commercials...

Libera’s music has been sought after by popular TV programs such as KPOP Star, Man’s Qualification, and Gag Concert and various commercial films like Seoul Milk and Baskin Robbins. Last year alone it was used as background music to almost 300 TV programs and more than 20 commercial films

Pretty impressive considering it's now over a year since Libera featured on UK TV.

I decided to investigate further and focused on the commercials. This article using a translator --> http://www.microsofttranslator.com/BV.a ... on%3Dsc278 reveals information on some of these commercials going back over 10 years. They mostly feature snippets from the Angel Voices era.

That thought did cross my mind as I was researching their involvement in Korean Television. Maybe they are just happy for the exposure. It probably helps keeping 'libera' fresh in the mind of Korean fans and goes someway to explaining their sell out concerts. I doubt any royalties however small, would reach Norbury HQ more so their record label.

Wonder why the tracks are from the older AV albums rather than the Libera stuff?

Korea has a significant Christian community, many of those titles would be easily recognised by that community. OTOH I wouldn't consider "Far Away" to be an older track. A number of the newer songs, including "Far Away" were at least partially written by Japanese composers. That might make the royalty situation complicated.

A popular online gamer who garners millions of YouTube views, has used the 'heavenly Sanctus' moment during his game play to depict a godly moment. It's a short video anyway, but the event happens at 17 seconds.

Wow! I can't even imagine Libera working its way into popular culture in the US. How disappointed their fans must have been when their summer 2015 concerts were cancelled.
