Thank you for the kind thoughts.

Tully Bascombe was a character in "The Mouse That Roared". He was the Sargeant at Arms of the Grand Duchy of Fenwick. His part wsa played by the incomparable Peter Sellers, so Tully Bascombe was decidedly male. I'd rate "The Mouse That Roared" as one of Seller's three best films.

Tully: The Goons, like the Pythons fell beneath my radar. Except for Bentine who's 'square world' I loved. as for the Pythons the only one I can take is Palin and his travel series. so that's why I missed your reference to Tully Bascumbe.
My own is much easier Kay Lester is the boy |I write about!

Sorry I've come to this quite late, but I'd also like to offer my condolences and deepest sympathy to 'theforestdweller' and Tully for their recent bereavement. May they rest in peace.

Interesting that the music is by "Two Steps from Hell".

Significant?

I guess it works on many levels - it's not far to Lancashire after all!

Say, is there really such a thing as Yorkshire Airlines?

Sadly, no.

By the way, if anybody struggled to understand what was being said in Kes would it interest you to know that is the redubbed version where they redid the dialogue post filming to make the accent less thick and remove local slang (often based on viking words) just so that people outside of Yorkshire could understand it........

I was up early this morning for my Sunday round of golf. On the way to the course I normally listen to a news station on the radio but this morning, on a whim, I decided to swap stations and just happened to run across this track:

I always liked this one so it was a nice start to the day.
