Top 10 Libera songs Spring 2011

Post by maartendas »

I thought it time for a Top 10 thread again. What are your 10 most favourite Libera songs? Since Peace Deluxe we have two new songs Benedictus Deus and Song of Life, and maybe Epsom and/or the Canada tour made some songs new favourites. Plus we have had quite some new members on here since the last time I remember a thread like this, so it would be nice to see everyone's favourites.

I'll start with mine (in no particular order, although Song of Life would be #1 right now ;)):

Song of Life
Sanctus (Locus iste version, from Visions)
Going Home (Epsom version 8) )
Ave Maria (Caccini) (solo: Steven Geraghty)
I Am the Day
The Fountain
Lux Aeterna
Far Away
Lament
Time

(now I know why 11 is my lucky number - I wanted to include one more song - Stay With Me ;) because of Epsom...)

I realised that I haven't included any of the old St. Philip's stuff - maybe this could be a thread of its own? 'Cause there are definitely enough songs from that era to make a Top 10 ;) and it would be impossible to choose only 10 songs from both St. Philip's and Libera

Yep so many concert songs should be released as MP3's on Itunes or another site. Even if they charged 59p a pop they would make money back.

Didn't Stefan do that at St George's and Beverley concerts last year?

:?:
It took so long to choose my last top 10
They change all the time, it depends what mood i'm in.

I'm going to think on this for a while.

2. Salva Me
3. Time
4. Stay With Me
5. Deep Peace
6. Adoramus
7. Faithful Heart
8. I Am the Day

I am shocked that some of you have put in Lullabye as its up there with The Lamb for me. Not many songs i hate but them two are like nails down a blackboard for me.

Well each of us have our own taste's, after all that's what make all of us so different.

I used to dislike The Lamb, but I've got to admit that it has grown on me and is now included in my playlist. I've always liked Lullabye, its a great little song :)

But as i said, each to there own.

Just a point to note, this topic was created so people could express there favorite top 10, not to express there most disliked. ;)

I think maybe I'm an exception to this. There is not one song that I dislike, there are track that I might not listen to depending on what mood I am in. But there may be other times that I will include them in my playlist. Every once in a while, I will listen to Libera complete discography in chronological order over a few days, and I always notice something about a track that I've not noticed before. Maybe a particular solo, or a musical arrangement. Something unique to that song or version of the song. It has often been for this reason that I have grown to like a song that i have previously disliked.

The order is not important:
1.Song of Life
2.Benedictus (McKenzie and Libera)
3.Ascension (McKenzie and Libera)
4.Eternal Light
5.Sanctissima
6.Time
7.How Shall I Sing That Majesty
8.The Fountain
9.Ave Maria (Caccini) (solo: Steven Geraghty or Tom Cully as well)
10.Far Away (solo: Michael)

And I also like the Lamb (Ben P) 8)
I also agree that the choice of songs depends on the mood.
