...looks like a rebranding may need to go ahead because UMG will have the rights to the EMI name. Let's hope the positive words contained in that memo by the new CEO benefits the artists they are now looking after. They haven't handled 'classical' too well in the past judging by some of the comments.

He hints at dramatic announcements once the deal is sealed: ‘Acquiring EMI Music’s operating companies in Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden will further enhance our ability to nurture European music talent, not just in those markets where we are already established champions of local artists but in new territories as well.

‘We recognise that the appetite for local repertoire has never been stronger, so increasing the size and diversity of our European roster will be an area of renewed focus as we go forward.’

There's something strange with the Libera pages on the Japanese Majors sites.

- Libera has almost disappeared for EMI Classic Japan site.
They are no more in the artists list, no more shop having them, almost all CD going to a "not found" page".
http://www.emimusic.jp/search/?selectSe ... 9%E3%83%A9

- Libera does not appear on Universal Music Japan
http://www.universal-music.co.jp/artists

- Libera appear on Warner Music site, but the page is extremely old and not maintained.

I look for Erato label but I didn't find anything relevant.

With Libera no more appearing on the EMI Music Classic site, I don't know at all which Japanese label is currently having Libera in his catalogue... :?

That is a shame about EMI Japan as they did a good job promoting them. Here EMI was poor but at least in markets where money was being made they tried .

Also posted this in the new Christmas CD/DVD thread, but looking at the back cover on Amazon, it seems that Libera is back at Warner Classics. Funny turn of events that EMI classics was sold by Universal to Warner Music last year to balance the market competition.

So after the first two albums, this will be the third at Warner Classics. Makes me wonder why they switched to EMI back then.
