According to the Ticketsource website tickets for the New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles concerts will become available at 2 PM on May 5, May 6 and May 7 respectively. Oddly nothing about Washington, DC. I hope this doesn't mean that arrangements for that concert are on shaky grounds.

Perhaps admission will be free again. PBS?

Some religious buildings have so many people coming and going that there is no restriction on anyone coming in for any event whatsoever. I've seen that with a few cathedrals where they allow a group, usually a choir or organist, to perform, but tickets aren't sold.

An update from Libera of the US regarding ticketing. It seems that in all but San Francisco seating will be reserved only for a few premium seats, the rest will be general admission. We are promised more information to be forthcoming about the Basilica.

Well, what exactly is going on at the Basilica?! It may very well be a generous donor or donors choosing to cover the lost revenue due to the concert being free. Does the Basilica have some rule about concerts having to be free admission? Otherwise, the other possibility is that the cost is being covered by an entity funding a concert recording like in 2014. However, in 2014 they were in the U.S. for over a week without any concerts before the recording took place. In this case, they wouldn't have as much time beforehand.

So the Washington concert will basically be first come, first seated? I wonder at about what time the line will start forming? I wasn't aware that the previous Washington concert had been free. Did anyone here go to the first Washington concert and perhaps remember about when the line started forming?
The message from Libera of the United States says that all of the seating in San Francisco will be assigned.

No line at the basilica because it's always open  I know that from 2014. As I said, some religious buildings have that open doors policy. I know that St Patrick's Cathedral in New York is similar.

Then it means the rehearsal is likely to be public ?

That seems a reasonable guess. I arrived early in 2014 and they were still rehearsing when I entered the door.

Relative to the beginning of a concert, when do they usually start rehearsing? In 2014 when did concert goers start showing up? I'm just trying to figure out at what time I should set out from home in order to get a seat.

I'm sure the reason they publicly posted this is because you can still get in if you got the green.

It's a good tactic! This pre-sale tactic to get donations to fund the tour is a good fundraising strategy. Pre-sale tickets and a special M&G with the group seems a very good incentive.

The Washington concert should be set up just like it was in 2014. The first block of pews (4 sections - 5 rows deep in each) are going to be given out
in exchange for those who have donated to Libera of the US.
The fourth picture on this page is the best that I could find quickly which illustrates the layout.

All the remaining seats will be open seating.

Rehearsals/sound checks can't start until the equipment has been set up. My fuzzy memory says that I've been to a few starting as early as 2pm or so but most of the time they begin between 3:00 and 4:00pm.

Thanks for the information, I should be able to make it there by 3:00 or 4:00 pm pretty easily.
