Look what I found!

It's an entire concert by NCC, I think in Aalst, Belgium in November 2011. I did not have time to listen through it all yet, but looks like the first part includes a variety of choral music. The second part is Fauré's Requiem.

Also – turns out that I will, in fact, get to hear them sing with EH one last time. :D I noticed their summer tour yesterday – and as soon as get a confirmation for my ticket reservation, I'm booking flights and train tickets to Koblenz, Germany.

Thank you Lumi, I'll enjoy watching that.

You're right. Ronan Parke is very talented, and this particular video --- which now has to be viewed directly on Youtube's own website --- delivers a powerful anti-bullying message. Let's hope that it will be widely circulated.

I've been dusting off my collection of other choirs, and I came across this piece from Kings College.

Tavener: The Lamb

You can't go wrong with a bit of Tavener in my opinion, although some find his work dark or repetitive.

The Tallis Scholars are a spectacular choir:

I thought I should share this promotional video from the Choir of St Paul's Church at Harvard Square. I remember seeing a few videos of them a while back and thinking they were quite impressive, but I have to say they have even improved from that. Almost makes me want to buy a carol album this year.

Their director of music, John Robinson, seems absolutely brilliant. He immediately reminded me of David Flood with his enthusiasm, and well, turns out he actually was assistant organist at Canterbury under Dr Flood until his appointment in 2010.

I am having a small (read: GIGANTIC) obsession with this video: The joy on that man's face when he sing and his enthusiasm are contagious. Plus, I generally enjoy countertenor work, and have only lately "discovered" Jaroussky from the CD "Duetti" on which he sang with Cencic (another favorite of mine.) Hope you enjoy this as much as I do!

EDIT: Ah, I can't seem to make the video appear. Please let me know how to make that happen! It is a youtube video, here is the link in the meantime...

Hi,

I have the same problem - the reason it won't post is the 's' in the https part of the address - if you delete that 's' so it just reads http.......

So,

becomes

You can then use the insert web video option and all will be good.

Until this week I had only one favorite choir, group. It was Libera, but now there is a big competitor for Libera. It is Pentatonix. Does anyone else have heard about them?
For this moment my favorite songs of them are "Mary, did you know", "Dance of sugar plum fairy", "Little drummer" and "Carol of bells".
