What the hell is redding out your closet? I'm supposed to be the one using Brit slang to confuse you guys - it's not supposed to work the other way round!
To "redd" out ones closet is to clean it out and straighten things up so it is neat and orderly. If you took one look at my closet in my bedroom, you'd know in an instant that I don't ever do that. My house is a typical single man's house. A disaster area!!
By the way, what is the chippy?

DrewE,
I think you are correct in the spelling. My bad( as the kids say nowadays). :)

Found this little song on the net regarding 'chippy tea'.

"Well it's the end of the working week
and I'm rushing back home quick
I'm starving
I'm fair klempt tha knows
I could eat a butter brick
I need stodgy food without the fuss
Then wife gives me a plate of cous cous

I said I'm sorry love but I want's a chippy tea

Chippy tea, chippy tea
I want's a chippy tea
But you keep givin posh nosh
it don't agree with me
I don't want lobster thermadore
Or your rasberry coulie
I'm a working man from Lancashire
and I wants a chippy tea

Plenty salt and vinegar on that love
Leave it open will ya darling

It's dark when I sets off to work
It's dark when I come home
And all I want is simple food
Not Din Sum from Ken Hom
Her inspiration's ready steady cook
Am I eating it?
Am I f...
it's friday night
and i want a chippy tea

Chippy tea, chippy tea
I want's a chippy tea
But you keep givin posh nosh
it don't agree with me
I don't want lobster thermadore
With your rasberry coolie
It's Friday night
I'm within my rights
I wants a chippy tea

"And in the red kitchen
William is preparing griddled squid
With coconut pesto
Chilli jam and an ice cointreau custard"

"And in the Lancashire kitchen
Bernards brought back from the chippy
Chips, peas, pudding, gravy wrapped
a carton of curry, a barmcake and a can of vimto
Now"

Chippy tea, chippy tea
I want's a chippy tea
But you keep givin posh nosh
it don't agree with me
I don't want lobster thermadore
Or your rasberry coulie
I'm a working man from Lancashire
and I wants a chippy tea

Got any of your satchets of tomato sauce
Throw us a chicken in there will you love

Wigan chippys they have baby's heads
In St Helen's they serve splits
But tha's giving nouvel cuisine
And all I want is chips
I don't care if it's one of Nigela's
I think that's a funny name for a fella
I'm not eating it
I wants a chippy tea

One last time

Chippy tea, chippy tea
I want's a chippy tea
But you keep givin posh nosh
it don't agree with me
You can keep your Jamie Olivers
Or your Gordon Ramsey's
I'm a working man from Lancashire
and I wants a chippy tea

Right
Throw a sausage in that batter love
Pass us one of those 2p forks"

My brothers and I were kidding around with my mom one day, explaining what "my bad" meant and how it in 'text talk' it is abbreviated to "my b" or "m b". She was completely lost, but now whenever she makes a laughable mistake, she says "my b" or it will get switched up and sound something much more similar to "mubbie"!

Could this be a new Libera song? Yes a chippy is the fish and chip shop. Mind you, don't mention Lancashire to a Yorkshireman - they are our sworn enemies. Yorkshire f&c are miles better

Well you live and learn - who said this community was only about lads warbling away at top c?

Know what you mean about living a disaster area Tom. Mines twice as bad coz I've got my 22 y.o. nephew living with me at the moment.

Back from Berlin and had a great time. Fortunately our Tutonic cousins all speak great English because my German doesn't stretch beyond ordering a beer + please and thank you!

Well, I thought I had given up on Halloween, but alas.... All my friends are going out and bugging me because I'm not. So my current plan is to write random names on lots of name tags and stick them all over a t-shirt. I'd be going as 'an identity crisis'. Not the most original, but it might get a few laughs!

Cool! I know Halloween is big there in US. Too bad it isn't too much of an affair in my country.
