Classical Now 2014 (Various)

4. Miracle of Life (Takashi Muramatsu & Robert Prizeman) - Universal-Japan

...Not sure if this qualifies because libera are credited but in providing support for Aled Jones
The Great Tenors - Sing Their Favourites

CD3 - Song 4. All Through The Night (Ar Hyd Y Nos) - Aled Jones with the Llanelli Male Choir, Libera and the English Session (mmm...quite might like to listen to this one)

...now this The St. Philips Boys Choir -- Christmas Angel Voices (CD) we all know about (it's the AV3 Christmas release from 1997) but what do you think about the cover...

??? ...official or not?...suppose we'll never know!

Thank you very much Jimmy :D

The Classical Now 2014 is certainly eligible and had been added to the Compilation list. The total number is now 176. :)

For the 'The Great Tenors', it's a compilation which hosts Aled Jones as artist, on a song that has libera doing choruses in the back.
It's surely and interesting CD but for me it's a compilation with Aled Jones, it does not fulfill the conditions to be added to the Libera compilation list.

For the Asian cover of the Angel Voices 3, it' something known, it was reported on twitter a couple of months before the Taiwan tour.
There's also another cover with a cherubim for the exact same AV3 CD !

The sticker says "2 for $22". I wish the buyers checked the songs list before buying these two CDs ;)

Are they officials ? I'm not sure but I think they are.
The CDs presents a bare-code at the back, the label Evosound printed on the CDs has an internet site where the CDs can be seen.
Nothing looks weird... apart the choice of a photo showing red robes.

The same label offers also the Angel Voices CDs 1 & 2 with a cover which has already been discussed on the forum :)

Are these CD to be added to the compilation list ?
Humm, I don't think so, because it's foreign versions of officials CDs, not really compilation.

I don't think the Asian version of AV3 is genuine. Not only the cover (which is obviously contrived and has nothing to do with Libera /St P's) but for the fact it says "St Philips Boys Choir" and all the official AV albums are by "St Philips Boy's Choir".

A small difference but is it likely that an official product would make such a mistake? I assume Libera/RP get the chance to approve or sign off (or see) the proposed design before it is released and surely they would notice such a simple error of grammar?

Still I think there was a time when I was once mistaken, can't really remember when though..........
If I’ve got owt to say I says it, and if I’ve got owt to ask I asks it.

Yes and I suppose with not being able to identify any of the choir members on the cover it will have to remain in the 'unclassified/unexplained' box. It could have been the first sighting of them in 'red robes' - very festive. Although technically speaking it would have been SPBC and not Libera.

Happy with the compilations list now standing at 176...It's only going to grow!

FDL's has already found and included two new festive additions involving Libera;

compilations list

P.S. Very nice to be included on the Downton CD - obviously it's doing very well in the charts connected to a high viewing ratings TV program...

I've come across another festive CD, due for release on 28th;

Thank you very much Jimmy ! :D

It's nice to see the Libera name on the cover of the Asian one.

I wonder how you came across the Polish one :shock:
It must had been tough to find this one !
(the way they write Robert's name is a bit comical :lol: )

I will add these to the list this week-end, and I really need to work on a bbcode generator that will complies with the LD requirements for tables.

Thanks to your finds, we're now reaching closer to a total of 200 compilations ! :)

This might not be the right place to post, since it's not a 'compilation' per se, but I happened to notice a post on the German site about St Phillips' work on a 1988 Peter Hoffman/London Symphony Orchestra album. Not sure if it's been mentioned here yet or not.

It's not a compilation. Some more informations are following in an own thread.
