Also, do you know why they performed some Christmas songs in this concert?
Hi Tom

I think the biggest reaction to Isaac's several solos, which included the "Wexford Carol"(with Camden), "Wonderful World" and "Angel" was to "The Prayer". The lady next to me in Cebu even started joining in until I gave her the evil eye. At the interval in Manila I also overheard lots of praise for "The Wexford Carol". Isaac, as usual, reacted with his familiar modest smile.
Why the Christmas songs? I don't know, but the Filipinos are a very religious people (80% Catholic) and I guess Christmas wasn't that long ago. Besides both "Wexford" and "Angels we have heard" are excellent choices to showcase the remarkable singing talents of the boys and the arrangement genius of RP. By the way I think it was Taichi who did the high descant in "Angels".

Looking forward to seeing you in Korea. It promises to be an excellent series of concerts.

Muffin818 mentioned:
"There are quite a few new boys on this tour! Just when I think I've learnt all their names! It's great to see some of the others returning too, especially Matthew Madine, James and Michael and Shay but sadly still no Tom D-L :( I see there's no Matthew Jansen or Cassius either. They've been members for so long now it seems strange without them. But I guess they must be coming up to GCSE age. Maybe they're too busy with school work?
It's nice to have Eoghan and Kavana as stage managers. I always love it when the older boys come back and help out behind the scenes."

I haven't been following them for decades, but my guess is that six 'newbies' on tour is a record. This two-concert tour (in a very Libera-friendly area) was probably a good introduction for them and a good preparation for the longer four-concert tour next month.

I wonder why there was no Alex G as he was in the promo leading up to the tour?!

I very much appreciated the photos and video provided by FDL but it seems to me that there were very few (if any) videos posted by local fans for Philippines Tour 2016 compared with previous Libera tours.

Was there some reason for this? Were videos prohibited at the M&Gs or other public events?

Maybe it's just too soon and some might appear over the next few days and weeks.

Libera has posted five new pictures on their Facebook page. I'd post them here, but I couldn't figure out how to make them smaller. But it looks like the boys had the great time they always have in the Philippines. :)

Forget re-sizing because the current software of this forum does not support it. Here are the originals :P

The forum should re-size the images to fit, can you post an example in Feedback so I can look into this.

Thanks

Paul :)

Alright, I'll do that. When I previewed the post, the pictures were so large on my screen I had to scroll right just to see them all. Thanks, Surpinto, for posting.
Edit: Strange. When I posted in the feedback and bugs section, the picture came out fine, even though it was huge in the preview. Huh. At least it works! :)

Well written post! I'm surprised they had two extra days in the Philippines, but perhaps tickets were cheaper. So much fun certainly must be an incentive for the boys to work hard to go on tour!

Thanks for posting Nick - a trip to London and the Philippines in quick succession - I'm envious!

The opening solo to 'Once in Royal' at St Paul's Cathedral for his school choir! Yes, that is very interesting but I hope he hasn't joined up too late!

If he's already an experienced soloist, all that remains is to learn the material, yes? On a side note, I wonder what RP's criteria is for selecting soloists. Most boys seem to get something in the solo department, sooner or later, but there's some--like Tiaran Branson-- who I don't think have soloed at all. Maybe it comes down to personal nerves?
