Another Libera tour was most successfully completed in Atlanta last night. Set list was the same at each concert but each program had a different cover page and different pictures - some seen for the first time. A variety of venues as well – large impressive concert halls in San Antonio and Atlanta; more intimate theatres in Boston and St. Charles. We were treated to admirable performances by several new soloists. The well known soloists performed to their usual exceptional standard. Supported by harmonising from Sam, Alessandro, Alex M, Camden and Ciaran, Isaac made Libera history by receiving a standing ovation for “Danny Boy” mid-concert. It was nice to see Sam still playing a prominent role in this as well as in “Lullaby”. The five “newbies” proved themselves to be worthy additions to the group. This is not to forget the stalwart support of the non and former soloists who play such an important role as well.
Make sure not to miss the upcoming concert in Guildford – and look out for some exciting news from John Rexroad in the next few days/weeks.

Thanks for that review.Alessandro, Camden and Alex M seem to be the new rising stars ? :D But yes as you said the other boys are also just as important. Yes I am very excited for Guilford and will try to give a long and detailed review when I get the time. I have two questions:
1) How do you insert an image in a message?
2) I was watching videos of pictures and the end of concerts and I saw that Robert wears a microphone on his shirt ? why is that?
Thanks :D :D

1. Use the upload attachment button.
2. To communicate with selected boys, musicians, sound crew etc.

I have been given permission from FDL to share these pictures from his Twitter. He had some awesome shots of the meet and greets. All credit for the photos goes solely to him. Thanks, Patrick! :D

It looks like the boys were given presents (by the organizers?) at the last three concerts.

In San Antonio they got sheriff's badges:

In Chicago the marquee referred to them as the St. Phillip's Boy Choir
[thumbnail]http://s16.postimg.org/vgnxwx6mt/CCGyl8 ... _large.jpg[/thumbnail]

They got wristbands there, not sure what they say.

Then in Atlanta it looks like they got fake money.

And finally what was really cute to see, and demonstrates just how the older ones take care of the younger ones, we see Tom playing with Taichi in his lap :D

So he can communicate with the boys and/or support team I suppose. I remember at Epsom there was some form of communication between RP & Daniel. Daniel was nodding quite a bit while looking at RP between songs (I was behind RP so couldn't tell if he was speaking).
If I’ve got owt to say I says it, and if I’ve got owt to ask I asks it.

Reviews seem to be a bit thin for Chicago and Atlanta, so I'll try to fill in some gaps. Chicago's event was actually nearly an hour outside of Chicago in a theatre in a small town. The place was rather old and small - capacity about 900 - and featured a performance on the theatre organ pre-show. It reminded me that this place likely played silent movies when it was first built. The concert itself was quite well done - several in my circle of fans thought it was the best of the tour - but there was no disagreement that this was the best light show of the tour. I generally sit too close to fully appreciate the lighting, but this show the lighting stood out even for me. The bright white lights in particular were just outstanding. Another unique feature was the monitors tacked up on each side wall that offered a view of the performance for those sitting further from the stage. This also gave the kids a rare opportunity to see themselves perform live. :) A few eyeballs wandered over to those screens from time to time during the show. For this show I was on the left side, so i got to see the performances of those who I missed in Boston. Watching this group, I realize that I was remiss in leaving out Camden as an emerging perfomer in my Boston review. He also had a number of lead support roles throughout the show - in adddition to his solo. Mark also caught my eye due to his energetic presentation of his supporting role.

After the show, we had to deal with heavy rain from a bad storm that was blowing through Illinois. Many flights were delayed and/or cancelled in Chicago the next day. It was fortunate that Libera and all of its fans were able to get to Atlanta without serious delay on Thursday.

If I had to guess I would say that Atlanta was the least attended of the shows. This was really unfortunate because there were some really good things that occurred during this performance. As John previously mentioned. the most notable was for the first time in my memory and perhaps the first time ever in a Libera concert, a standing ovation was given in the middle of a show. Danny Boy was just that good. Sam, Alessando, Camden, Alex and Isaac should be very proud of themselves. Isaac, who is almost always serious looking during a concert, did allow himself a small smile after he was in position for Exultate.

For this concert, I got to sit on each side of the stage for half the show. The first three rows at this concert were blocked off for PBS. This left me sitting in row 4 on the right side for the first half of the show. Thanks to the generosity of Georgia Public Broadcasting's number one French supporter, I was able to enjoy the second half of the concert with a relatively unobstructed view on the left side of the stage. It was relatively unobstructed due to a staging problem which has developed particularly at these symphony hall venues. The stage is so high that RP has to be positioned on it - dead center. This makes for an obstruction for those who have perfectly centered seats. It was definitely better to be off center for every show, but it was the most distracting in SA and ATL.

Personally, I thought this was the best delivery of Always WIth You and America the Beautiful that I saw while on tour. Gabe definitely nailed the most difficult part of his solo, being on stage all alone to start the second half of the concert with the opening lines of AWY. How Great Thou Art and Going Home also got big murmurs of approval in addition to the applause. It seemed what the crowd lacked in numbers they made up for with enthusiasm. This contributed to my good feelings about America the Beautiful performance as I could sense the third standing ovation of the night was building before the final note ended. It was the perfect spirit raiser for the last song of the tour.

I also have to add a kind word for Ciaran's speeches. His ability to get maximum laughter from his lines is due in no small part to his
superb comic timing.

Lastly, as Surpinto mentioned, the boys were presented with money from a tour sponsor. They each received a million dollar bill and a two dollar bill.
Several of them weren't entirely sure that the $2 was real currency. :)
At many of the concerts fans and/or sponsors provide the boys with small gifts. The wristbands in Chicago and the Texas Ranger badges in San Antonio were also examples of this.

Libera just posted a new blog and several tweets about parts of this tour and it sounds like they had a nice vacation/summer camp type of time between the concerts.

It would also appear that I was right earlier in this thread when I guessed that it was Ciaran that knocked the head off the pinata. But now we know that Merlin finished the job.

Thanks for the pictures! Visiting the coca cola museum must have been a major highlight of the trip for them; no surprise there, kids love soda.

Another radio interview done during this tour; this time in Atlanta. It's a fairly lengthy interview at a little over 17 minutes with Alessandro, Cassius, Ciaran, Isaac, and Tom. All credit for finding it goes to Jimmy Riddle on Twitter.

Careful with your volume knob as the interviewer is much louder and probably closer to the microphone than the choristers.

Here are some highlights :D
