Re: Notre Dame is burning

No rebuilding will ever restore such a cathedral to the same way the destroyed building had been before. It then lacks the very impressive atmosphere of completely having been constructed and equipped by people long, very long ago and the connection to this far-away time that it brings. This is ver...

Re: Origin of Various Libera Songs

Thank you, The Furby! Hopefully, this can already be a good response to Amie's suggestion. I started linking filiarheni's posts to the corresponding songs [...] ... and Surpinto's and kinda_k00l's and others to come and hopefully contribute to this thread. :) Also I suggested filiarheni splits her V...

Re: Notre Dame is burning

Thankfully there seems to be a lot of positivity today in that this magnificent cathedral can be restored to its former glory. York Minster suffered a fire back in the 80's which destroyed the South transept roof. Luckily the fire was contained to only that part of the building when the firemen use...

Re: Notre Dame is burning

Padmachou, I was petrified to hear this and still am. Some things you just can't imagine to ever happen. I can so relate to your feelings and fears, and oh yes, it does hurt me too, due to my own personal connection to our Cathedral in Cologne which every Cologne born loves so much and identifies wi...

Re: 2019 Japan Tour

Is it new or has it just not been mentioned explicitly in this thread so far that the Japan concerts are officially announced on Libera's website and not only by the Libera Records homepage? A button is provided there for "Advance Tickets for Fan Club Members". General ticket sale is in Ju...

Re: 2019 US Summer Tour

Libera has published the ticket sale starting date for - Saint Paul, Minnesota and - Oklahoma City on their website: 15th April via https://www.ticketsource.us/uslibera. This is all very exciting, and I wish I could be a part of it. Only, when I read through all what has been said, I get scared abou...

Re: Origin of Various Libera Songs

Libera's Salve Regina uses the Impromptu op. 90 no. 3, Gb major by Franz Schubert (1797 - 1828) . "Impromptu" means improvised, offhand, instantanous idea. Schubert composed eight impromptus in two groups, op. 90 (D. 899) and op. 142 (D. 935), all of them in b keys and all of them in the y...

Re: Origin of Various Libera Songs

I just enjoy some harmless speculation once in a while. :D There is nothing wrong with speculating I find. Sharing it publicly however will inevitably provoke others to form an opinion about it, which of course is a speculation on its part again. But I believe we all are aware of that. :) The only ...

Re: Introducing Libera

Very nice idea, Maarten. I'd like to watch the readers'' reactions, opening the song and listening to Libera for the first time in their lives, and tried to imagine I was one of them. :)

Re: Origin of Various Libera Songs

Nevertheless, Barry Manilow's song may have planted the thought of using that musical material into Robert's head, and he eventually acted on it. Hmmm ... the Chopin Prélude is a well-known piece of music, to a musician anyway, and in consideration of the fact that it was Robert's repeated practice...

Re: 'Synesthesia' & 'Imagination' in music

So as your question is about to celebrate anniversary one of these days, I probably should finally write some reply. I'm very sorry that it fell from my radar! Thank you for your reply. I was just wondering, if I should wait another year with my reply, but then I decided not to do so...

Re: New Christmas CD in 2019

The other question that comes to mind is timing: when in 2019 will this be released? Christmas 2018 is fast approaching and putting out a Christmas album in, say, February 2019 would generate zero hype outside the dedicated fan community. What Libera would probably want is to have this album spring...

Re: 2019 US Summer Tour

I believe that the audiences of the two concerts will overlap in part, as those who are truly interested in boys choirs will go to both, if ever possible. I know I would, I'd be enthusiastic about having two such concerts within a short period of time and would consider it as a great luck. And if I ...

Re: Origin of Various Libera Songs

Is anybody keeping a master list of all this on a central site that can be updated and accessed? Do you mean something that keeps direct pace with new (incl. scientific) findings and where possibly obsolete (outdated?) information would be replaced so that it's always up-to-date at first sight? If ...
