Re: Your Song on Repeat (Past & Present)

I am new in Libera Dreams but I have been a fan of Libera for more than 10 years. Own many of their albums too. But if I were to choose one song out of many that I like ( and I like all of them), one song that I could loop for hours, I would choose "Benedictus Deus". I like this one so mu...

Re: Beyond - DVD videos

Someone linked to it on the Libera FB page, but here's an article about someone's walk in that area, ending up at St Peter's Chapel - https://britishcoast.wordpress.com/2017/11/07/177-burnham-on-crouch-to-bradwell-on-sea/ The article has various inside and outside pictures of the 1300 year old churc...

Re: 2018 US Summer Tour

Thanks John45, for that wonderful and encouraging anecdote. I believe you can take comfort that those of us reading it here are devoted enough to Libera to respect their wishes when it comes to gifts, etc. How fortuitous, though, that your exercise actually provided an unscripted opportunity for us ...

Re: 2018 US Summer Tour

Just as a reminder, here's two videos from last year, How Great Thou Art, by themselves, and In Christ Alone, with the church's worship team. (I would guess that Robert Prizeman was responsible for Libera's vocal arrangement and harmonies on In Christ Alone. They would have had to practice that befo...

Re: 2018 US Summer Tour

I think it's nice to be able to have videos and recordings of the same song sung by different folks over the years. It gives us an opportunity to appreciate the qualities of everyone. Libera always does such a fine job of continuously training the young men for different parts. Some soloists may exc...

Re: Georgia boys choir Europe tour 2018

I see that they were in France & Belgium this summer. Here's a nice Christmas song from last December, There Is No Rose, from the 15th cent., arranged by Z. Randall Stroope, a friend and colleague of Morten Lauridsen. I especially liked the middle acapella section. (And a typical Libera song, to...

Re: 2018 US Summer Tour

Sorry I can't make it from Florida, but if I were coming, I'd offer to buy Amie a nice meal (or whatever she prefers), after all she's done for the history of Libera. I echo the sentiments here - SUPER glad that you get to see them. And if they have a meet-n-greet after, be sure to introduce yoursel...

Re: Heavenly art

The first one that came to my mind would be Orinoco Flow, with the bird being a bit tropical, and all the different elements being like the different locations mentioned in the song.

Re: Libera Promo-CD new in my collection

You'll need a new house to put all these CD's in Soon! You might even have a larger collection than anyone in Libera! That starts my mind thinking: I wonder if someday someone will propose a Libera 'museum'. It could house all of these rare CDs; old rare photos of earlier singers; rolling video cli...

The familiar beginning to Libera's Vespera, but a different body of the song after that. Nice clean harmonies.

Here's a fun song with a couple young brothers - singing, dancing, and all around having a good time!

Yes, welcome back! It's good to see activity lately, during the somewhat 'Libera lull' we've been having!

Re: Anthony Muresan

Just realized that Anthony did Handel's Where'er You Walk (Semele). It's a live solo voice with piano, instead of Libera's studio version with instruments and harmonies. Without a close mike, his lower notes are softer, but a strong presentation. A more strictly classical approach. I wonder how some...

Re: Aksel Rykkvin - Boy Soprano who needs your help.

If you haven't had a chance to see this yet, it's a wonderful 40 minute presentation from Nov. 11th at the Store Studio, Oslo. I think it's one of his best - he seems to be in the pocket with a live orchestra. The sound doesn't seem to come on until :40, but the first piece is instrumental. Lovely p...

Oh, I didn't mean it in any serious sense - I just thought it was interesting.
