Re: New Album "If" (Oct 2021 release)

There is a second picture on Instagram - somehow reminds me of the set of "if" (picture from the digital SJSS programme), what do you think? https://www.instagram.com/p/CR6_OMbs6vo/ I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the "if" video will be released soon. Well the newspaper is ...

Re: New Album "If" (Oct 2021 release)

Well, we know that Sam was heavily involved in the making of the Christmas album, but he's not credited in any of the songs he arranged. So it's possible that itunes only credited Mr Prizeman for some reason. True! But this information was available in the CD booklet I believe. If not, we definitel...

Re: Origin of Various Libera Songs

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how SoP has done comparatively in terms of ratings or viewer share before and after the changes in 2014? In the late 90's it had a viewership of between 5 and 6 million viewers per week but it was on after the Sunday evening news which would be a prime slot. I hav...

At least you got to experience five minutes of a Libera concert - which is more than the rest of us. What did they sing?

That's Nathaniel Brawn who played piano/keyboards on the 2019 tour.

Re: Libera members as toon characters

Interesting exercise. Most are recognisable by their hairstyle rather than their face. The ones I didn't get (and still see no resemblance) were Alex G, Joe, Luke and Sam.

Re: Right Now

Should his (her?) voice be used to blatantly dub over Libera soloists while the video, orchestration and original choir sound remains intact? The “If” sacrilegious effort has been removed ( I hope because I suggested it should be) but Michael Horncastle singing “Far Way” with an alien voice remains....

Re: Which Libera songs comfort you in the most complete way?

The list is too long. In the order they came to mind: The Moon Represents My Heart, Ave Maria (TDL), How Great Thou Art, If, Going Home, Attendite, Sing Lullaby,The Prayer, Still,Still,Still, Nunc Dimitis (Ben Crawley or Daren Geraghty). Stopping there, but could go on...

I don't know if Robert still has direct involvement in Songs of Praise. Currently the most prominent " Musical Director" is Ken Burton. Screen Shot 2021-02-18 at 11.45.26 AM.png . There have been many changes to the programme since 2014. Efforts to improve ratings by "widening its app...

Re: St John's Smith SQ Christmas Concert 2020 (Dec 6)

Musicians behind or either side of the choir is the usual arrangement if there is sufficient room. Musicians behind always sounds better to me (from the front rows). Musicians in front can sometimes overpower the choir - especially a french horn.

Perhaps social distancing could have been expressed less ambiguously.
