Re: Aksel Rykkvin - Boy Soprano who needs your help.
I just happened to notice in Aksel's video of Eternal Source of Light Divine - at :38, the similarity to Eternal Light (Director's Cut) - at 1:28. Even the song names are similar. Could it be that Aksel's video had some inspiration from Libera's? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_z4-3v73MA&index=...

Re: First post
Hi Dan, and a hearty welcome! Thanks for joining and commenting. Do you remember how you came across Libera? And the usual questions like which CDs/songs/singers have caught your attention. Being in the UK, do you think folks there have come rather accustomed to music with treble voices? I notice Li...

Here's a heartwarming presentation of The First Noel with 5th graders. They really seem to be engaged and enjoying it.

Re: Other Choirs, Singers, Musicians that you like
So, from the fun 'bass' voices of my Christmas post above, to the echo-y voices of this one . . .
What Libera song do you think would be the best one to record in this unique place?

Re: Other Choirs, Singers, Musicians that you like
This post might get swallowed up with the Libera concert tomorrow evening, but it's great Christmas fun!
Here's a group that could be classified 'alt-Libera', since they don't exactly sing high.
Christmas cheer to all!!

Re: Copenhagen Royal Chapel Choir - Video
Thanks for sharing. I think it was an interesting and balanced presentation. There's a struggle between wanting to go on as long as you possibly can, having loyalty to the group and not wanting to let people down; and you've invested a great deal of time and effort, had great times and made good fri...

Re: Libera Concert in China (2017)
Just a couple quick thoughts - Even thought it's a rather tight schedule for a Libera tour, if they're doing mostly the same set list, they won't really need to 'rehearse' much, if at all. The sound checks are most likely just portions of songs, so that Sam, Steven, and others can get a good feel fo...

Re: Libera to tour USA
Gallery now up for this tour! https://libera.org.uk/gallery/usa-tour-2017/ Just a few things that popped into my head, back when this gallery was posted - Evidently "projecting thoughts", or whatever Oliver's doing, has been popular since the days of Mini-Ben and another Oliver (Cole). 2 ...

Re: Your least favorite Libera song is?
Hilarious! I'm afraid some of us have become professionals in digression and minutiae. Oh well. I imagine some in Libera are quite amused by the detailed 'analysis paralysis'.maartendas wrote: ↑6 years ago If people ever wonder how passionate Libera fans can get, this is the topic to show them

Re: New album is called Hope
In our choir, we refer to it as 'stagger your breathing'. If you just say that to the whole group, then you risk too many of them taking a breath at the same time, especially since the tendency for most people is to wait and take their breath near the end of the phrase, instead of some taking it rig...

Re: Other Choirs, Singers, Musicians that you like
I'm not sure if Oleg Aleksandrov has been mentioned already on this 'long' thread, but I thought it was interesting that he's singing 'Smile', which is on Libera's new Hope CD. He takes a minute to get over the jitters, but nice job for 7 years old. He also does justice to 'I'm Dreaming of a White C...

Re: Greetings from Rural America!
Hi Lucas, and a hearty welcome. As Surpinto said, it's always nice to have folks who are involved in music, and can appreciate Libera, not only from an aesthetic angle, but also appreciate the substantial amount of work that goes into getting 8-15 year-olds to memorize and present 20 or so songs wit...

Re: Collaboration with Mao Asada
I've watched it again with more attention: Watch and listen 3:16 - 3:18. I think I would have choreographed it differently, but how he does is good. I only don't understand why there are those distracting drum sounds at the beginning of Voca Me . I believe the drums are to sound like a heartbeat. A...

Re: Libera to tour USA
I really enjoyed my 1st Libera concert. Been a fan for almost 10 years now and I finally got the privilege to see them live. This trip I took with my best friend was a bday present from my parents and I'm thankful for this wonderful experience. The concert was a totally different type of experience...

Re: Collaboration with Mao Asada
Thought this might be the right place to post. Just came across Jorik Hendrickx using a minute of Voca Me in his 2017 freestyle figure skating routine, here in January, but also later in April at the Worlds in Helsinki. It's from about 2:50-3:50. Rather dramatic, since there's a nice choral buildup ...
