Re: Concert St John’s Smith Square (2021)

My first rough impressions after watching the concert. First of all: the orchestra sounded fantastic! The concert was a mixed experience. A mix of emotions, of repertoire, of seeing familiar faces (grown up some more) and wholly new ones. Getting used to the current Libera. As for the speeches: brav...

Re: Concert St John’s Smith Square (2021)

Merci Padmachou, for mentioning so clearly the smiles from the boys, which showed how happy they were to sing in a live concert again. That alone makes me very happy too :)

Re: Concert St John’s Smith Square (2021)

A question for those who attended: in what way did you sense the historic moment of this being the first Libera concert since Robert passed? I understand that he was commemorated in a speech and that there was a page dedicated to him in the programme. Were there any other ways in which you felt a co...

I think that boy is Hal Avery.
Yep, that’s Hal. I’ll never forget his first appearance at only six years old in Arundel in 2019 :)

Re: Concert St John’s Smith Square (2021)

Thank you, Dani. We will be thinking of eachother, the connection between Libera fans is a strong one :)

Well, it looks like my ticket can make someone else happy now, which is a real consolation.

Re: Concert St John’s Smith Square (2021)

Finally decided I won’t go after all. It’s too much hassle and too much risk. It’s hard to believe it’s come to this… but it just seems wise to stay home

My ticket for 8pm is up for sale, seat G6.

Re: Concert St John’s Smith Square (2021)

Perhaps the Forum isn’t the place to discuss covid policies. Though I too think about this a lot. Should I go, should I cancel? I am generally really careful when it comes to covid measures. I feel I could be safe. Which is why I remain hopeful. Were this concert ‘just’ a ‘regular’ Libera concert, I...

Re: New Album "If" (Oct 2021 release)

Life has been too demanding for me to write a review of 'If', and frankly, I wonder *if* I could even manage to write one. To me, 'If' is phenomenal. However, I would like to share my listening experience last night on the train through Austria. I had a private cabin and had dimmed the lights to loo...

Re: Concert St John’s Smith Square (2021)

Bonsoir Padma, My comment was in no way aimed at you or anyone specific. I merely read in several posts people expressing the possibility of booking a test but not taking it. Thanks for clarifying your thoughts, I think it helps to express those questions or worries in order to get more clarity and ...

Re: Concert St John’s Smith Square (2021)

Two things on this:

Do check your country’s official rules and advise for traveling to the UK (rather than just going by posts on the forum);

Booking a test without taking it seems to me a misuse of test capacity - and a bit risky even.

That being said, I really hope to see many of you in December.

It will be an emotional return to the stage for sure. I’m definitely hoping to attend.

Re: Oliver Mycka

Thought it was time to pay Oliver a small tribute, as he seems to have left the choir. I think the Christmas concert in 2019 was his last appearance. I loved witnessing his development as the soloist of Stay With Me. That song will remain ‘his song’, as far as I’m concerned. He sang it for a really ...

Re: RIP Robert Prizeman

A Tribute from Angel Voices Singer David Barlow: […] Rob could be seen as much more than a choir master, he was an educator of music. Strict & disciplined when necessary - we could be easily distracted/unruly at times as per most groups of young children, especially boys. However the structure ...

Re: RIP Robert Prizeman

Well said, Jimmy, about that empty feeling. To me it is like a loss of innocence. Until this week, Libera represented a kind of safe world, where death did not exist. This sounds naive, and in fact, we also remember the loss of Steven Philipp. But somehow, the choir itself and the music, always felt...

Re: Robert Prizeman has passed away

Learning of Robert’s passing made me reflect on his legacy as Libera’s founder and musical director. Libera has been part of my world for nearly a quarter of my life now, They are the soundtrack to my journey of faith, and listening to them is often like praying. Their music is connected to phases o...
