Re: London Concert - 1 December 2017

Many thanks for the reviews danieb88 and Padmachou. I enjoyed reading them immensely. Dannieb88, I would love to meet you, I am the short fat guy. OK, yes, there are lots of short fat Libera fans - but I am the best looking one. Padmachou – cannot believe that English is not your first language, you...

Re: London Concert - 1 December 2017

I don’t take notes, and memory is beginning to fail, so this won’t really qualify as a “review” – just a summary of what sticks in the mind of a septuagenarian. Last minute change of venue went remarkably well though it seems the British have forgotten one of their most basic skills – how to queue. ...

Re: London Concert - 1 December 2017

According to Ticketmaster's seating plan for other events at Westminster Cathedral, Row A centre aisle seats are 14 (L) and 15 (R). At St. George's they were 15 and 16. I have 13,14,15. Could be some confusion.

Re: Concert at Ely Cathedral in May 2018

I have on two occasions attended services at Saint Thomas which has a fantastic, world-class choir of men and boys in New York City. For any travelers to the United States and New York particularly with an interest in choral music I highly recommend making a visit. Agree. I have been lucky enough t...

Re: Libera Concert in China (2017)

Thanks for your great post and kind words Ari. It's always nice to read a first-timer's reaction, but believe me, the emotional response is the same even at the ninetieth concert. I look forward to your full review. I'm glad you mentioned the back row who were at full strength and contributed greatl...

Re: Libera Concert in China (2017)

All good things come to an end – well in this case just a pause I suppose as Libera will be back in concert four weeks from now where I hope they will include “The Moon” and songs by the new soloists. Better get your tickets now if not already done so. Only side seats left but big-screen monitors wi...

There are two new soloists that sing a full song. Not only Oliver but also Ben.
His rendition of Angel is sweet and pleasant and fits perfectly the words. Both deserve to be eagerly awaited ☺
Agree completely. Ben`s angelic voice is perfect for this song.

Re: Libera Concert in China (2017)

The fourth concert was indeed a private event by invitation from the sponsors, Volvo, with only ten seats available for the general public by lottery. However, thanks to the efforts of Libera staff, nine seats were made available to international fans. The allocated seats were situated high up on th...

Re: Libera Concert in China (2017)

For those of you not following the twitter running commentary, and for a more permanent record, here are a few notes about the second and third concerts. The second concert was held at the Jinshan Cultural Centre, a very nice building and facility about 2 hours drive from downtown Shanghai but still...

Re: Libera Concert in China (2017)

Three angels earned their wings at Wuxi tonight. Victor was not unexpected having been almost certainly positively identified as the new soloist in the MP3 release of “The Moon Represents My Heart”. Sure enough, he performed the final solo perfectly – and that broad smile did no harm. It was not a h...

Re: The Moon Represents My Heart - Single

Certainly a younger voice - could be Romeo - don't really remember his short COTB solo well enough to be sure. Perhaps someone we have not heard solo before. Very nice, but I would still like to see the release of the full 2013 video/recording.

Re: Libera Concert in China (2017)

"Stay with me" was last sung not that long ago at the December 2016 St. George's concert. Merlin sang the lead (the erstwhile Ed, Daniel and Cassius part) and Taichi the high bits. The mini-boys also participated.

Re: Mackie, Kiefer and Francis

To each his own - but for me this is horrible. Does for me what an operatic soprano (with lots of vibrato) does for Yorkie, ie compares to finger nails on the blackboard, as does anything in a Whitney Houston style.

Re: Libera Concert in China (2017)

I don’t think you need to worry too much about the boys’ wellbeing or stamina. As the blogger said: “We are extremely lucky with all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. We actually have the easy job – we roll up, put on our robes and sing.” For the chaperones and technicians it might be a ...
