Re: Libera Concert in China (2017)

I don’t think you need to worry too much about the boys’ wellbeing or stamina. As the blogger said: “We are extremely lucky with all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. We actually have the easy job – we roll up, put on our robes and sing.” For the chaperones and technicians it might be a ...

Re: Your least favorite Libera song is?

Thanks for the correction. Interestingly enough, the Cor Anglais is neither English nor a horn and in England is more commonly referred to by its French name. Here's an interesting clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpSwkoR0Dlo

Re: Your least favorite Libera song is?

Yorkie, if it's any consolation, I am very fond of Brass Bands. Down South we had nothing as fancy as Black Dyke, but as a young boy I would always look forward to seeing and hearing the Salvation Army Band which would parade down our street playing carols every Christmas. As for the Dvorak, nothing...

Re: Old Picture

Found it clearing out junk from my Mac. Didn't remember seeing it before or where I got it. Perhaps from the French forum!

Here's a juxtaposition of the two songs. http://www.anesi.com/east/howhorst.mid There are certainly some similarities.

I was high up in the choir section out of reach of the TV cameras so did not feel the need to conform.

Re: Libera at Songs of Praise 'Big Sing' 2017

None of the "Hope" tracks would really fit the SoP special which, despite recent multi-denominational trends, will probably be very much focused on a traditional Anglican Christmas with well known hymns and carols. Patrick: don't forget that you are expected to dress appropriately displaying red and...

Oh Dani! Deeper and deeper into the mire you go. Better wear a disguise at St George's or Yorkie (and others) might exact punishment for such blasphemy.

Re: Libera at Songs of Praise 'Big Sing' 2017

I wonder how many songs will they sing? And will there be collaborations? FDL will be able us to tell us on Sunday - or should he keep us in suspense? I predict "Carol of the Bells" and one other. I would like it to be "Still,Still,Still" but they are bit short on the lower voices right now which a...

Re: Hello everyone!

Hi Victor As one of the oldest members of the group (at 72, just a couple of years ahead of Yorkie), I too would like to welcome you. Libera's appeal transcends many boundaries - age, religion, geographic, cultural, social etc. You will find a mixed bag of characters here with variable degrees of mu...

Re: London Concert - 1 December 2017

I'm guessing that some of the front premium seating was reserved for families, and so never appeared for sale. That thought never occurred to me. Can those who have attended this show attest to this in any way? It would make a lot of sense if it were the case actually. I have been just to one Liber...

Re: Radio Interview with John Romeri

Not a secret, but interesting that RP seemed to carefully avoid mentioning St. P's by name when asked in the interview where they sing on Sundays, instead replying "various churches".
